Documentary following a generation of post-punk musicians who took the synthesizer from the experimental fringes to the centre of the pop stage.
In the late 1970s, small pockets of electronic artists including the Human League, Daniel Miller and Cabaret Volatire were inspired by Kraftwerk and JG Ballard and dreamt of the sound of the future against the backdrop of bleak, high-rise Britain.
The documentary features numerous appearances from high-profile artists including Gary Numan, Vince Clarke (Yazoo), Martin Gore (Depeche Mode), Philip Oakey (the Human League) and many more. It’s a must-see if you’re into geeking out and listening to electronic artists explain the inspiration behind their music.
they also go over the gear, so if your a gearhead….check it out
what does it for me: black leather sneakers, a really good meal, particular house songs (ex: above)
